Mr Andrew Bacon joined Lipoxen in 2001 and is currently a Principal Scientist and head of the liposome-based vaccines and cytotoxic drugs group. 

Previously he was for seven years with Evans Medical (subsequently Medeva and now Celltech) where he worked on the research and development of novel vaccine candidates, including a successful influenza vaccine candidate, which was progressed into man under a CTX application. 

Andrew graduated with a biophysics degree from the University of East London and holds a course diploma in immunology for clinicians and scientists from the Faculty of Medicine of Imperial College, London.  He has published 19 peer-reviewed papers on vaccinology in science journals, including Infection and Immunity (American Society of Microbiology) and Vaccine, (Elsevier) and is an inventor in 5 patents.
